A Coin rising through the ranks with an ever increasing base of fans and a highly dedicated an knowledgeable DEV, ISO E-Currency coin is one of those ‘sleepers’ that will make many a miner happy over the coming weeks. ISO is using the SHA256 algorithm similar to Bitcoin and there will be 900 million coins in total. This is purely a POW coin so will be favored by miners predominantly then along the way investors will also gain quick interest as development goes forth.
A silly, but not really silly question: how much heat does a bitcoin miner generate?
For anyone who has dedicated bitcoin miners, I understand that they use 'a lot' of electricity. As any electric component, they also put out heat. How much heat do they put out? Is it equivalent to, for example, a small space heater? Does your cat like to curl up near your miner for warmth? Could I practically use multiple miners to heat a small room?
A lot of progress could have been made if all of the cryptocurrency miners had dedicated their mining systems to [email protected], [email protected], and other distributed computing projects instead of mining Bitcoin and Ethereum.
I've decided to start a rack of dedicated bitcoin miners and I am planning the parts right now, but I have a few questions. Q1. 5770 Single Slot vs 5830? Q2. Is overclock worth it in the long term (since the warranty is no longer valid)? Q3: Anyone have a decent Mobo link? I'm trying to figure out what mobo would be good for a 4U case and a power supply to go with it to match the number of PCI-E slots maxed out. Old Rig Specs:
Now for logistics: I own a 5770 (old one) and it only gets 175 MHash, so the spreadsheet is wrong on that account. It would seem 5830 would be my best bet if they're still stocking it next month. Although the single slot 5770 would be nice too. Table time. Note I am using 175 MHash for $/MHash calculation. Bitcoin’s Computing Power Sets Record after 100K New Miners Go Online The total computing power now dedicated to securing the bitcoin blockchain has set yet another record, has reached 71.43 quintillion hashes per second (EH/s).
"Lets be very clear...the ONLY attack happening now is the Bitmain attack on the Bitcoin protocol. Trying to change the Bitcoin protocol when the majority of dedicated hash is against it is the definition of an attack. Miners will defend and defeat this attack."
I made a weird game/VN! in the year 21XX, humble Bitcoin miners struggle to survive while cults dedicated to all your favorite tech billionaires (Elon, the Zuck etc) vie for supremacy across the post-apocalyptic wastes. Link to free demo in the comments!
The Reason Why Bitcoin Miners Dedicate Time to Mining Empty Blocks
Blocks filled with transactions are not the only blocks mined on the network as empty blocks are mined as well. Empty blocks actually do have a transaction in them which is included first in every block. The main reason why pools mine empty blocks is because they are performing operations non-stop. Now the biggest qualm people have with miners who dedicate energy to mining an empty block is due to the recent throughput congestion these days.
